Hey again just posting on some animation here just wanted to post about anatomy and how useful it can be for animation I’ve been on a few websites just looking at the anatomy of a person to see how people move and what muscles are pulled on when things move, I think this is a really good idea for rigging a model and just wanted to share

this is one of the pictures I was having a look at it shows the muscles and on the website tells you about them if you look at the diagrams of muscle structure it can help to make life like models and you will know what bits of models joints will have influence on to get a really good animation.
Anyway thanks for listening to my message and I hope this pointer helps you as much as it helps me.

p.s. mail me if you want to know some good websites for anatomy

hey again another post here :)

you probably seen the last post i put up the fluid emitter fire and i just wanted to show you a little secret and hopefully pass on a little bit of advice. during the creation of my fire effect with the fluids emitter i created this:

it may just look like i did the tutorial totally wrong and a few people would just get rid of it or try again with the last section. but hopefully i can change your minds if you ever work with emitters  and something doesn't go the way you though please don't just get rid of it because it maybe useful later like this one i think it looks a bit like mist personally so if i save it  and have a look at what i did i now know how to create mist or something like it that i can mess about with to get it to look a bit better, i may even add this around my castle when i'm finished makeing it so that it looks like the moat (that I'll be putting in) is giving off mist.

anyway hopefully i went a little bit towards convincing people not to just throw away stuff if it doesn't go the way you wanted but creates somthing else entirely with my little rant there :)

~anyway keep looking out for more posts i'll have a few more on in a day or 2 thanks for reading.

Maya 5

hey heres another fire effect i've done this time it's using a fluids emitter i like this much better than the normal particle emitter tbh gives a much nicer end result i think

anyway this is some of the stuff that was on my pen drive that i actually found now :) anyway going to follow a few more tutorails on useing fluid emmiters to get the hang of it, oh and it's in the same lighter that i have posted earlier may still make some minor changes because i maybe using it in myb animation with the lamp.

k then thats the end of this post keep watching out for my next posts and hope you like them

Maya 4

heres a little bit on my animation with the lamp we where given:

just a little bit of my animation in slides basically just got it to roll it's head back and round then get ready to start moving still got quite a bit more just wanted to show what I'd already done quite a lot of key points in it as you can probably see thank god it's not a really big model it would take ages to do anything
heres some stuff i've been working on (not totally finished)
first just something i did quite quickly probably going to add more to it but i had ago at doing some terrain it's pretty cartoon like at the moment but here it is anyway again just did this in some spare time on my own without a tutorial :
second i've been working on building a castle here it is:
it's pretty basic at the moment I've been working on other things lately and not got round to doing that much on it I'm building the inside of the castle as well the bits out side it are a first go at making stairs for inside the large main turrets around the gatehouse but I'm just working out how to do them so they're not the ones actually off in there i still have a lot of work to do on this since i've not even started on the main keep or the terrain around the castle I'm not sure about making it really realistic maybe do a cartoon like on unsure at the moment. as for the makeing of it it's all pretty simple if abit annoying just basic polygon for the start then had to go add lots of new lines in it so that i could extrude it in the right way or delete different sections so that it all fit together. anyway thats is for this post more later :)

Maya 3

heres another one I've been working on i didn't follow a tutorial for this one just saw that i needed one to do the fluids Fire on Maya that I've also been doing it's pretty quickly made tbh but it's ok for what i was using it for heres my lighter:
yea so there it is hope your looking forward to the fluids fire i'm really looking forward to making it the tutorial looks awesome it's on the link on the forum that i put down quite easy to find it's just call fluids fire

Maya 3

heres a normal fire effect pretty much the same as the last post but i though i'd just put it up there to show it
hope you like the pic of it it took me ages to print screen it evil laptop ><

Maya 2

hey this is the first thing I've been working on
it's just a particle emitter made to look like fire it plays quite well i followed a tutorial most of the way but things started to go wrong at the end of the tutorial so i went back and redid some of it and ended up with this the only thing I've not been able to work out is how i managed to get the actual ring that the on fire to float about still trying to figure it out but i may go back to one of my saves becauseit would make a good animation for a tablet dissolving in the body

About me

How do I see my role as a student on workplace placement (purposes and intentions)?
My purpose is to gain as much knowledge as possible in my chosen field as well as a few things on top to boost my hire ability such as a full understanding of a programming language and I intend to finish this course and hopefully come out with a 2,1 overall but I’d be ok with just a 2,2 as long as I gain quite a lot of knowledge and good work for a good portfolio.
Why did I become a student?
I became a student because I wanted to do 3D animation after having ago on Maya 2008 or 09 can't remember tbh in college 2 years back and really wanted to follow it up and work for a movie company or games company making animations or modelling for them.

What kind of practitioner do I think I am?
I think I'm an animator and hopefully a hard working one if not as knowledgeable as others yet :).

What values do I believe in?
i believe in if someone treats you well you should treat them well as well :)
i think that if you are going to do a job for someone that you should do it well and not overcharge them for what you have done even if they think that you have done a really good job and you don't

How do I demonstrate that I am practicing in a way that is consistent with relevant professional values and codes of conduct?
I usually show this by putting up pictures of my work on the log or showing people what I’ve been doing recently on my laptop it’s normally the model I’m still working on.

Maya

This is a Blog for the start of my first assignment in Maya.
the assignment so far is to write down some ideas for what i think i will be doing for my first animation in Maya. so here are a few of the ideas i have come up with so far at the moment most they are quite basic apart from the one i think i am most likely to do.

Idea 1.
I was thinking about making a model of a man and duplicating him and having him fight the other model perhaps add in a weapon so that i could add in some sparks using particles. i will make a scene for this as well i was think about the inside of a medieval castle would be good for it because i could add some more animations to the background as well to bring it to life a bit more say like some fallen timbers from the roof that could be on fire if i had enough time to do all of that.

Idea 2.
i thought i would make a running scene with the model lamp and have it running with a head band sweating trying to finish the race before that other lamps. the background here would also be animated to a certain extent perhaps with groups of well wisher at at the end maybe add in some slow motion and some music to go with it.

idea 3.
I was think that I'd give ago at making a Indiana Jones animation kind of thing with the lamp in a cave or something along those lines and hits a trip wire and is running away from a giant bolder or something and getting away in a Indiana fashion. again i could do some animations for the background like when the bolder coming the ground shakes and for the bolder when it hits the ground dust comes up maybe with the particles.

At the moment i think the most likely one i am going to give a shoot at is the sword fight one my first idea i do realize that I'm probably setting the bar a bit high with all the modeling and rigging that i would take just to do this and the particle effects but i still think I'm going to at least try to make it happen. but as i said this is only what i think I'm going to do at the moment until i actually start doing it i can't tell what will actually be feasible.

Thanks for reading Gordon Samuel Sharp.
